Beach Club (Clubhouse 1)

Stay at The Beach Club. This FABULOUS newly constructed home offers an open livingroom/ dining area, with dining seats for up to 30 people. There are 12 TV's in the home, wireless internet and the TV's are setup for slide shows or powerpoint presentations. The larger TV's are in the livingroom, dining area and the 2nd floor game room. The 2nd floor game room also has a shuffle board table and a ping pong table that converts to a game table. The oversized kitchen has 2 of everything (2 dishwashers, 2 stoves, 2 refrigerators). There are 6 master suites and 4 additional bedrooms. Each unit also has parking for 8 cars. The complex is located in the heart of Port Aransas and just a short walk to the beach.   I booked this in February for our 23 family member annual vacation. Clubhouse one was the perfect place for us. Having our own private pool, all the big screen TV’s, large kitchen with 2 of everything, large area for eating and playing games together...everyone thought it was our best get together!   house was clean upon arrival. Check in was easy, code didn't work for door but Port A escapes was quick to correct the issue. We had a group of 10 couples along with children and everyone had a great time! Kitchen had plenty of space for all of the food that was brought, the kids loved the game room and it was nice to have our own private pool.   My sister and brother and I rented this for our adult children and grandchildren for our annual reunion. We especially loved the three separate rooms downstairs for our spouses and us.   Overall, Clubhouse 1 provided a great setting for our family gathering of 20. The property was just as advertised and the house was clean and comfortable. The outside could use some attention as we had a broken chair, dirty pool lounges, and an unusable charcoal grill which we worked around. We would go back.

  We had a multi-family vacation and we stayed at Beach Club 1. The place was perfect for our party of 25. There was plenty of room and no one was cramped.   My entire immediate family of 12 adults and 9 children stayed there in June 2016.
  The Good Stuff: The house was very clean and well maintained. Plenty of space and activities for inside.
  The Bad: We arranged for a golf cart through Port A Escapes prior to arriving. Once we got there they told us they double booked the cart and we would have to return in for a day in the middle of our trip. They were not helpful or sympathetic despite admitting it was their fault. We asked them to help us find an alternative through another company which they reluctantly did.
  The house seemed to be missing remote controls for the fans downstairs and at least 1 tv upstairs. There was no manual fan option.
  We looked at the floor plan and prior to arrival assigned rooms. Upon arriving we realized that the bottom rooms open to the courtyard and have their own entrance. This forced us to reassign rooms with children for safety upstairs.
  Parking - we were told by the management company we had 8 guaranteed spots. The first night only 4 were available. We called the office at about 8pm and they informed us that they would come by tomorrow and figure it out. Non of the spaces were labelled or assigned.

  Our family had a wonderful reunion in Clubhouse 1. All bedrooms and bathrooms were used and comfortable. The separation between bedrooms really made each space quiet and separate from the outside areas. I would suggest an upgrade to the bed mattresses and pillows. For the money spent, we expected quality mattresses and pillows. These definitely were not. Each time you moved in the bed there was a creaking noise and the comfort level was that of an inexpensive motel room.
  The common areas worked well for our family. The large living, dinning and kitchen areas were spacious and well appointed. The kids could escape to the upstairs game and TV room for hours and had a blast. One kitchen faucet had a loose base which was reported at the end of our visit.
  The upstairs overlook porch metal chairs were very rusty (because of the salt air) and needed to be replaced (as of June 2016). The downstairs outdoor area (Adirondack style) chairs were all wood, in good shape and very comfortable. The lounges around the pool however were not in good shape; some plastic slats were sagging or broken. One pool lounge had ketchup (or red paint) all over it and was unusable.
  The biggest issue for our family in this house was the uncovered electrical switches and plugs in the downstairs outdoor area near the pool. I reported the problem the first of four days, but covers never arrived. So, as each family with small children arrived, we had to point out the issue and watch wet children in that area all the time.
  Overall, this was a great space for our family and, with repairs and regular maintenance, we would come back to the same house. Also, we had plenty of space for parking all our cars and two buggies in the back.

  I'm not sure where to begin. The house was very clean and well maintained. Beds were comfy. And bathrooms served there purpose well. The double kitchen worked very well for my family of cooks. None of us are familiar with an electric stove. But we made it work. The ice makers in in the frig did not keep up. But....
  The IGA grocery store just a few blocks away had plenty and was amazing. They were very tuned into the needs of vacationers.
  The pool at first glance seems small. It's bigger than you think. And was seldom not in use. Afternoon shade provided by the house was was a welcome plus. The pool guys clean twice a week. So no problem there. Add the ping pong shuffle board and games we brought with us never a dull moment.
  The island also provides lots of things to do and see. Dolphine watch, fishing, sandy beachs, and lots of shops. And the little rental carts were not only very useful, but fun.
  So long story short. We already booked for next year.
  Only problem we had was were to park. We caught people parking from the other houses and hotel visiters using our spots. And only suggestion a security gate at entrance to breezway.

There was enough beds and restrooms. Everything we needed was in the house. It was so beautiful so well maintained. I would highly recommend this house to anyone and I have.   We had a large group of adults, kids, babies and dogs staying at the beach clubhouse #1. There was plenty of space for everyone. The single people who wanted to be away from the kids got the private rooms and everyone else was in the group area. The kitchen was very well stocked and that's coming from a bunch of foodies that cooked all weekend. The pool was gated off making it safer for the little ones. The Beach was just a short stroll down the street. Clubhouse 1 is closest to the beach. It's a great set up for a large group and well worth the price.

  The house was just like the pictures on the website and everyone enjoyed their stay. I would recommend more mops and brooms be made available for guests, we didn't find the 1 broom and 1 mop until the last day there as they were sitting between the 2 refrigerators. There were also some broken shelves in some of the rooms which I called about to ensure we weren't held responsible for the damages. The bbq pit was full of ashes on both sides, the smoke box of the pit was filled to the top. The bbq pit was also not very sturdy, when moved it almost fell apart. Overall good experience, we will definitely be utilizing this rental on a regular basis. The house guests were all police officers blowing off some steam and visit this area on a yearly basis, normally staying at Seashell Village. Not anymore, I think we found our annual rental...

  The property is perfect and has all the things you need in a home. Close to the beach and is walking distance. Great pool and room for 8-10 ppl. The house is very spacious and has three private master bedrooms detached from the house. Perfect for the parents to keep an eye on the kids. The kitchen is huge and can support up to 20ppl. The only draw back was that the cleaning crew does not clean well. The beds, couches had dust and crumbs everywhere. They need to focus on cleaning in hidden places better. When I moved the couches I found a shoe, cards, food... Over all I give this house a B+ and that is due to not being very clean.

There was a huge amount of room in the kitchen (fully stocked), eating area and living room area. All the bedrooms were spacious and beds very comfortable. We walked to the beach everyday and enjoyed our time in our private pool. The location to the beach and town is incredible. I have nothing to say negative or that I would change about this property. We will be back next year!!!! I do have one concern that I would like to pass along to those reading these reviews. This has nothing to do with the property or property management. However, visitors need to be aware that there are thieves and apparently a huge problem on the island for visitors. Our first night in the property our kids moved the washer boards to the breezeway in order to play washers after dark, as there is not outside light. We had all of our ice chests, games, etc. outside in the breezeway. The next morning we discovered that our Ipod docking station, customized washers (not washer boards), and a soft sided ice chest with beer in it, had been stolen. I have never been sooooo disappointed in my life. One would think that these would be safe left outside. Every evening after that we drug ALL the Yeti ice chests and anything of value in the kitchen area.

  Living, DIning, Kitchen and upstairs game room were large and comfortable - with so many people in the house, we never felt crowded. Bedrooms are small, but that really doesn't matter when you only need them to sleep and shower!
  
  Would have liked the following additions:
  * A 2nd coffee maker
  * A bath rug
  * A DVD player in the family room
  * All beach homes I have stayed in before have had basic spices - salt & pepper - so I assumed this one would too.
  * A few more kitchen towels would be nice.
  
  These are not complaints, just suggestions!! Overall, loved the house!

  We had a GREAT time in port A and loved our stay at the "Beach Club". It was very relaxing and well thought out. We loved the private pool and the breezeway kept us cool in the late afternoon. We'll be back next year.
