The Sea Monkee PB216

This brand new community is just outside the center of Port Aransas. Pirates Bay offers two fabulous slope entry pools , firepit area and a large kids play area and is close to many of the restaurants, bars and shops that Port Aransas has to offer. It has three bedrooms and two full baths. The first bedroom has a king bed, the second a queen and the third 2 twins. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook your catch of the day and the livingroom offers a Queen size sleeper sofa. The colorful decor and exterior are a perfect compliment to a wonderful weekend or week in this condo. The condo offers cable TV along with wireless internet. This unit is pet friendly and smoking is permitted outside only. There is parking for two cars and a boat. Come, Relax and Enjoy!!

  We had an amazing time. The house was even better than described, had games for the kids, cable, movies for everyone, and the pool and bbq pits were as pictured. There was plenty of room for everyone. The playground was closed due to COVID-19, but when it’s open the facility will be even more fun for the family. The entrances to the houses were private, which we loved, and we didn’t see or hear other guests unless we went to hangout at the pool. Will be stayed here again.

  To be property was clean and had all of the supplies that we needed! I really loved having access to some turtle puzzles! I also really appreciated that the entrance to their unit is a gated in run. We had our pets with us and it was really nice to allow them to be “outside” while still in our private space. We chose not to use the pool or any other shared amenities due to covid, but lots of ppl seemed to be having a good time. I could see the location not being ideal since you are a drive from the main drag, but for ppl trying to social distance it wasn’t a big deal. Just know that you’ll need to drive wherever you go.

  This a great rental when we first walked in everything was spotless, we had a group of 8 and everyone fit just fine. This unit is so close to the pool and that worked out great we would BBq at the pool and we could come back and fourth if we needed to. It was also great to have a separate entrance in the master bedroom to go out to the patio. We would put our little one to bed and then we could sit outside and enjoy the night. All in all this is a great rental and will definitely be renting it again.
  Oh and the outside shower is a huge plus after coming home from the beach!!

  The place was really wonderful. Very clean and stocked so well. So thankful we could bring our dog. We loved doing the puzzles and playing the games. Pool and playscape were great for my kids and I really loved everything about the site. Unfortunately, the location requires you to drive nearly everywhere. I got a golf cart thinking we could have best of both worlds, but the new rule wouldn't allow you to cross without a $500 ticket if you got caught. The golf cart place recommended that we leave the cart across the street at their place and take it when we needed it. Good in theory, but with three kids, a dog, my older mother and all our beach stuff it ended up being more trouble then it was worth. Bottom line, amazing and perfect place if you are ok getting in your car to go to beach or town. So wish this place was on other side of 361 would be perfect then!

  This unit is the best we have ever stayed in, to date. Very comfortable, stylish, and convenient. The management company sent a standard letter saying to bring toiletries, coffee filters, and such, but it was all provided. Bath fixtures were very nice. Kitchen was a dream. Used the washer and dryer every day (be sure to bring detergent!). Private patio along entire length of house gives privacy from other vacationers. Despite the small square footage of the place, the high ceilings and open floor plan make it seem MUCH larger. Games, books, and TVs are also onsite. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes, cookware, and storage containers for leftovers.
  We never used the pool and the kids enjoyed the playground for 5 minutes before we got rained out, but I'm sure they would have loved it for hours. We would love to own a place like this of our own! Very well done. You will not be disappointed.
  The nearest beach access is on stop-light away and maybe 3 minute drive. Very nice. The Stripes at that corner sells beach permits if you plan to park on the beach. Permits are good for a calendar year.
  The management company sticks to the check-in time, so don't arrive early and think you will get in. Just drive around town and enjoy the sights until check in time and save yourself the annoyance.
  Condo was in good proximity to town with lots of restaurants and shops. Grocery store in town, but we never went to it. We stopped at the HEB on our way in.
  If you like to paint ceramics, there is a nice place on the main street. But it take a night and full following day to fire your creation, so be sure to do that at the beginning of your trip. Faster options are available, but significantly limits what you can do and your color options.

  We loved the condo! It was beautiful! Our kids loved it at well as it was stocked with board games and cards and had plenty of space. The pool is saltwater but very nice and kid friendly with the pirate theme. I loved the layout of the property and it was very conveniently located. My only complaint about location is I wish we were on the other side of the highway. Golf carts are not allowed to cross the highway and we were on the wrong side to be able to rent one to get around without having to take a car. If caught driving on the hwy you will get a hefty ticket. I was not informed of this when booking and given golf cart info on rentals. So that ad a bit disappointing but overall we loved the place and had a great time!

  We were very pleased with the unit we rented. Very comfortable and contemporary. It was quiet and easy to get in and out of. The unit was well equipped and also has books, games, and DVDs for guests to enjoy. The only thing that could have made it better is the floor could've been cleaner. It's a stained concrete floor (which looks really nice) but we discovered it was quite dirty. Not sure if the cleaning crew mops the floor but it didn't seem like it. Other than that, the unit was very clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

  Headed to Port Aransas for a little Spring Break, considering I had never visited this area I was curious and a bit nervous. I like to avoid hotel rooms so I embarked on an intense search for the perfect place to stay. I was traveling with my two teenage kiddos, my sister and her two dogs so booking the right accommodations was important. I came across some quaint, colorful little bungalow-style casitas at Pirates Bay that would be perfect for us. After reviewing numerous units I came across "SEA MONKEY." The unit was all we hoped for. It was clean, well decorated and had everything we needed. The unit was very tastefully decorated with modern and beach inspired items. The beds where very comfortable and the linens were high quality. Kids really enjoyed the kids bedroom and the bathrooms were very clean and nicely finished. The proximity to the pool was perfection, literally out the back to the right, a few steps and voila! you are there :)
  
  I will definitely stay there again.
  
  I did all my dealings with Port Escapes, Brenda and the whole team where very helpful. Highly recommend them.
  
  On an end note, I have never seen so many dolphins in my life. Make sure you go out on a boat. They are everywhere!!!

The first time we stayed, there were hotel sized shampoos, conditioners, etc..., but I guess the management company isn't doing that any more.   We were very happy with our stay at Sea Monkee PB216. The accommodation was perfect with lots of room and very tidy. The only thing that was a little off putting were the mosquitoes in the entry corridor. After we sprayed the area with RAID Yard Guard we were safe getting in and out of the unit and we did not feel like we were being hoisted away by those monster mosquitoes.
  But that was a minor discomfort. Over all our stay was fantastic and we were even more excited that pooch was able to stay with us on our vacation.

  A few things that we noticed. 1. The AC system was so loud that we hardly slept the entire week. 2. Several of the sharp knives were broken - the whole set could do with an upgrade. 3. No kettle for tea/coffee. 4. This was the biggest disappointment .... Why on earth would you close the pools for the whole day of Friday - there must be an alternative for cleaning the pool...please find a way to avoid closing the pool in a Friday.

  Our family of 6 had a wonderful time at the Sea Monkee! I cannot say enough good things about it. We mostly spent our days at the beach by the pier and then back at the pool... The kids begged to go to the pool everyday! We visited the USS Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium (which were both awesome!) which was about an hours drive away. There were many great restaurants nearby, one being the brewery. Plus you can buy fresh seafood and cook in the great kitchen at the Sea Monkee! Would definitely visit again!

  We rented the Sea Monkey for a combined family vacation with our kids and grandkids, initially due to the bedroom configuration of three REAL bedrooms, with beds rather than iffy-looking bunk beds crammed into one room. Our stay was wonderful and has set the bar pretty high for future rental vacation spots. The condo was very clean and so well appointed that it was easy to feel at home. There was plenty of room for quiet time as desired, too. We fed six adults and two children three meals a day with ease in the well-equipped, roomy kitchen. Washer and dryer are full size, and then some, and kept up with our large, active crowd. The AC was fantastic! Bring your own baby gear as needed – no play yard or highchair at this condo.
  Although the misters around the pool area and hot tub jets were inoperable, they did not detract from an overall good time. The pools and surrounding areas were clean and family friendly. Although we might have preferred something more ‘beachfront’, the condo was nonetheless centrally located to town, restaurants, and the beach. Moreover, the Sea Monkey sits back from the main streets just enough to be quiet and private. A great place to relax after a long day of sun and surf.
  One observation - expect a punctual check-in time of 4pm, and no earlier. We arrived at the office ten minutes early but had to wait until 4pm or later for entrance keys. We drove to the condo while waiting for check-in, only to find the custodial crew still cleaning.
  The Sea Monkey was a fabulous place to reconnect with family and/or friends.

  Our family and guest had a great time,very satisfied. The property was very clean/spotless. plenty of dishes, pots and pans. There was plenty of room to accomodate everyone, the location was convenient to the store/gas station upon our departure only issue we noticed was the WIFI, one of the guest in our party had an issue with this, she called to inform whomever, which the issue was never addressed, we told her to don't worry about it, you're on vacation. We would like to possibly make this a yearly trip, if you can provide me with any specials/discounts would be greatly appreciated.
